08/25/2013 Welcome to K5 class

 

Hello everyone! 

Today was the first day of K5 Class. We had a wonderful first day. 

Ms. Michelle is our new K5 teacher. She is bringing her many years of experience and enthusiasm to our class. It is going to be very fun and engaging. Mr. Patrick will be the assistant teacher. He is very excited to get to know everyone and learn together throughout the year.

We have a very large class this year. There are 17 students, some of them new to WIS, and we will spend this week getting to know one another and making everyone feel welcome. 

Its going to be a great year, we're looking forward to it!

 

08/26/2013 Circle time

Today we settled into class together and practiced our circle time first thing in the morning. Ms. Michelle asked students about the weather and the date. 

It was also a special day today because it is Roan's birthday. So during circle we all sang Roan the happy birthday song. 

We are still all getting to know one another and so we will be working really hard this week to learn and follow our class rules. The students are all very excited to be in K5 and they all want to do their best to act and behave like mature K5 students. Let's do our best together!

 

09/03/2013 My favorite animal

 

Today in class we all worked very hard. After circle we read a book with many animals in it. The book is called "I Want My Hat Back" and it is a book about a bear and his friends looking for a hat. There are many kinds of animals in the book, so after we read it we talked about different animals and where they live. Then we drew a picture of our favorite animal and wrote a sentence about it (pictured above). 

The rest of the day we practiced math (counting and number recognition), we went to the park and played, we read another story about friendship, and had a special dental check-up courtesy of Amelie's parents. What a day!!
